The Kinesio Taping Method is felt to cause physiological effects on several body systems. The systems affected by the body are thought to include the circulatory/lymphatic, neural, muscular, and fascial systems, as well as the joints. Kinesio Taping is currently being used by therapists to change muscle tone, move lymphatic fluids, correct movement patterns, and improve posture. The Kinesio Taping Method is a unique method of applying Kinesio Tex Tape in a specific manner to create change in the aforementioned systems. Benefits of using the tape are that it is more economical over time than other modalities, it is easy to learn and apply, there are less types of tape, and it may be used over a longer period of time.

    Tens Unit

A transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) unit is a treatment for pain. A TENS unit is a small, portable, battery-powered device. The TENS unit uses mild, safe electrical signals to help control pain. Electrodes (sticky patches) are placed on your skin. The TENS unit sends painless electrical signals through the electrodes to the nerves under your skin. Electrode placement depends on the type and location of your pain. Your healthcare provider will show you where to place the electrodes and what settings are best for you.

  • Posture Pump

With easy to use hand pumps and uniquely angled air cells, expansion and contraction (up and down motion) of these air cells create alternating hydration of the spinal discs and joints. When the air cells are left inflated for longer periods of time (15-20 min.), postural restoration occurs.

  • Cervical Traction Device

Cervical traction helps create space between the vertebrae to keep the spinal discs healthy. It can be achieved through yoga poses, assisted stretching or with the help of a chiropractor, physical therapist or massage therapist. Untreated neck pain or discomfort can easily worsen and create a larger long-term problem.

  • Foam Roller

Self-myofascial release, also known as “foam rolling,” has transformed from a once mysterious technique used only by professional athletes, coaches, and therapists to a familiar everyday practice for people at all levels of fitness. Recent information, technology, and affordable products have introduced an increasing array of training and recovery methods to the average person.Self-myofascial release is a fancy term for self-massage to release muscle tightness or trigger points. This method can be performed with a foam roller, lacrosse ball, Theracane, or your own hands. By applying pressure to specific points on your body you are able to aid in the recovery of muscles and assist in returning them to normal function. Normal function means your muscles are elastic, healthy, and ready to perform at a moment’s notice.
